An inspirational quote.

Good morning.  Here's hoping that your Thanksgiving Day holiday was everything you wanted it to be.

In case you're wondering about the quote about, I got it from FB, which originated from InspirationalQuotesMagazine.com. The last few weeks have been a time of testing what we're made of. Families and friends are divided. Fears are real. Hope is also real.

I have a line in my newest book, God's Analyst, that attempts to explain why I wrote this particular book at this particular time. It mentioned the craziness of the recent election and that I thought I might throw in my own brand of crazy.  Little did I know how crazy things would eventually get.

I've found myself looking for inspirational thoughts, and quotes. The one thing I've had to do for myself was to build a barrier around my psyche. I don't take in a lot of the talk that's going on, either on FB or via the television, internet or personal contact. We all make choices in life, so I've chosen to keep out most of the bad thoughts words or deeds and try my best to find the most positive mantras that I can. I promise that from time to time I will share those positive, love affirming quotes with you.

In the meantime, if you're looking for a book from me that is totally different from anything I've ever written, sort of a mishmash of random thoughts, give God's Analyst a try. The one thing I can promise is it won't bring you down. It might make you doubt my sanity, but it won't depress.

Until the next time I post, have a fantastic week. Perhaps I'll take pictures of us cleaning the snow from the drive and post them for you next time.

God's Analyst

God is on my couch -- ACTUALLY SITTING. on. my. couch. I want to record our convo: get it down for posterity, help the world, save some people, (use it to write a bestseller). One look at God's face, though, and I know it's not going to happen. What's a writer to do?

Happy Thanksgiving.

If you're in the mood to read a sort of diary, sort of memoir, and a totally fictional account of my personal visit with God, then I wrote this book for you as well as my own entertainment.  This book is like nothing I've ever written before, It's not a romance, not about a vampire or demon.

The story is a humorous look at a human (me) wanting the chance to question God, wanting to give ideas to The Almighty and how to make the world a whole lot better.  If you've ever had any of those random thoughts, then join me as I question God for all who want to do it.

Joys and Sorrow

WOW!  I really am slowing down.  I've missed several of my dates with Cici for our blogging.  To be honest I really thought I'd finished telling you about my trip to Canada that Bill, Billy and I took to celebrate Billy's birthday in April.  But judging from this one video I see I was wrong.

First off I will tell you that Bill and I just returned a few days ago from Cancun and are still resting up.  I'll share photos of that at a later date since I took some great ones with my Kindle Fire and have no idea how to take them off.  Of course Bill will figure it out and do it for me.  But honestly, if I posted those, what the heck would I talk about for this blog post.  Anyway the Bills are asleep and I have a little time to post some pictures.  Eventually in this post I'll get to the sorrow part. But first the joy of April 2016.

Niagara Falls was magnificent.  The above view was taken from our 18th floor hotel room.  I could watch that view all day.

Just a few of the sites.

After a hard day of sightseeing and walking, we're waiting for the bus that will take us back to the hotel.  Mind you our hotel is right behind us. Be have to take this little box like contraption up the hill. It's been two months so I don't remember the proper name.  But I can tell you there is a walkway that goes over the traffic.  I'm not good with bridges, or heights and even though we'd be back in the hotel in a matter or minutes depending on how long it takes to get one of the contraptions, I'd much rather wait for the bus that takes us around and about and takes about 30 min. to get to the hotel.  The bottom picture is me tying to strike a pose to hide the wrinkles. It was something I saw Tony Orlando doing in one of his pictures on a marquee while we were here. Bill is looking at me because it' s one more reason he thinks I'm crazy.  His thinking I'm crazy is why I'm laughing in the middle picture.

Taking a detour from the trip to tell you about the sorrow. A couple of days after we returned home Prince left this earth.  It still feels like I lost someone I cared a great deal about. I can't begin to tell you how much I was wishing the cause of death had been a heart attack, or cancer. And that's because all the news reporters were reporting he died of drugs without even knowing. Even so a few days ago  it was revealed he'd died from pain medication that had been lethal and too much for his frail body to handle. It was also revealed that he had surgical scars on his hip and leg, evidence of the pain he'd been living with.  In the end

And because I don't want to leave you in a sad place, I will return to the Joy part of this post. Bill really enjoyed his birthday trip, this was what he wanted to do.

Once again, this picture was taken from the window of the hotel.

Until next time.

A TIME OF GRATITUDE

I'd like to share something with you today that I hope you will give a try. Energy attracts like energy. There is nothing woo woo about that.

My blog today was intended to be about gratitude. Hopefully it will get around to that.  Let me start this out by telling you what the heck I'm talking about.  Thursday I woke in this super contemplative mood. I laid in the bed for about an hour thinking over the many blessings I'd received in my life and being thankful for them. One person after the other came to mind, and I acknowledge that they were important in my life and that I was grateful for their love.

Being a writer you know it wasn't long until I decided that I needed to write down the info. There are so many people that I have to acknowledge that I knew my blog would take weeks to get all of my thanks out.

Later that morning I posted to FB my intentions. Now this is the part where I'm taking a little detour from my post of gratitude, because by the evening I'd received so much positive love that I realized my energy had been at a pitch that allowed that positive energy flow to return to me.

Thank you to all of my friends, who just happen to also be on FB, for responding, with likes and especially words. You gave my day such a high dose of energy that it was one of those times I didn't even have to tune in to know the effects.

Then I received this.

I have used quotes by many people.  I've never had anyone turn something I've said into a quote. This is by far one of the coolest gifts I've ever been given. When I told A.M. Wells, friend, writer, cover designer, how much I loved this, she said, "It's no big deal, it wasn't hard to do."

That wasn't the point. She thought to do it, and most important, IT MADE ME HAPPY.  So thank you A.M. Well, for always making me laugh when you include pictures in your email that has to do with what we're talking about. I especially love the one of the woman pulling her hair out when I told you to get to work. LOL. But with this quote you've outdone yourself.  It's probably more than a little bit egotistical of me to love it so much, but so what. LOL

Now a continuation of the positive energy that flowed.  As we were going into the medical building, a man told me how much he liked my shoes, then his wife said yes, they are really pretty.

I could include the hugs from the doctor but those aren't unusual.  When I went to make my appt for an ultra sound of my legs the receptionist insisted on me using the phone there to call the hospital. The person at the hospital started this entire conversation where we  ended up with me telling her it was Bill's birthday and her telling me her son's birthday is next week.  Then miracle of miracles she gave me an appointment for later that afternoon. The positive energy was even flowing through the phone lines.

As I'm writing I realize you might become bored with my recapping every moment of the day, so suffice it to say that it was one filled with all positive energy and good feelings. During the evening when I reflected back on it, I was totally aware that it came about because of the energy I put out. The point of this post is to tell you that even the Bible speaks of this.  Whatever you want to attract be the magnet for it.  Good luck.

Now I can't end this without at least telling you that in spite of  two medical visits for me that day, Bill's birthday turned out fine. And no, there is nothing seriously wrong with me.  I have sciatica which I had almost a year ago. The test was because I was worried about blood clots. Don't forget the nurse part of me still lingers in there.  I already have the results back and no clots.  Now back to Bill's birthday.  We went to Cracker Barrel and had our usual catfish platter, but instead of having our usual fries, mac and cheese and pinto beans, we swapped those for healthier options. It was just as good. Here, see for yourself.

Don't you just love the scarf, it's a gift from my friend, Sonali Dev. Last  but not least don't forget to check out my friend  Cici Edward's blog.http://ciciedward.com/

Now go and have a great day, and try putting out some positive energy. I think you'll be glad you did.

A Bit of Inspiration, And Good Thoughts

Good morning all,

This morning I want to spread a bit of joy and inspiration.  All of us need a good dose of happy pills from time to time. I don't spend a ton of time on social media but when I do I always come away with a smile and if I needed a bit of spirit lifting I always find it on FaceBook.  The quote above was found on FB and all the ones I'm going to share with you are.

I'm going to give a shout out to three of my FB friends who are actually friends in real life. AC. Arthur, award winning author, many times.  I have no idea where she gets the quotes, but she starts off her FB days with an uplifting quote. Then there is Dani, short for Danielle DeBuono, she finds the sassy and most hilarious quotes. Last but not least is my writer buddy and person that keeps me blogging twice a month, Cici Edwards.  Her quotes are alwasy not only up lifting but give you something to think about.

I would be remiss it I didn't give a shout out to the writers of those quotes.  Thank you.

There are lots of things that come through your FB feed, things you think about sharing but don't, you don't want to annoy. The thing of it is, everything is not meant for everyone, and not for everyone in that moment. So, I hope the writers of those quotes continue writing and I hope my friends keep sharing.  I'm in  a very good mood this morning.  I'm going to leave you with a couple of my favorite quotes from FB. And then I'm going to go work on my story. LOL.

Have a great day everyone, love to you all. Please remember to check out my friend Cici Edward's blog at ciciedward.com

That kind of a day

Okay, this is me pulling out my hair.  I've been having a ton of computer issues. Something about the proxy server. Bill did figure out a way for me to use the Internet by going through several steps each time it won't go on. And every single time I have to also install AOL tool bar.

That leaves me with nothing else to say today with the exception of go and check our my friend Cici Edwards as ciciedwards.com. I can't even go and get her link. Nothing is saved.

Here's to a stress free, no mechanical problems day.  See you soon.

A BLOG ABOUT NOTHING

Have you ever made plans and when it was time to execute them you had nothing?  Of course you'd done it, even if you don't admit to it. Well, that's what happened to me this morning.  You know my friend, Cici Edwards and I have been working together, inspiring each other to blog just so you know we're still here.

In the past two months a lot of life has taken center stage and with it, the oomph, you know the desire to write or do much of anything. And though we've muddled through as humans do it still takes a moment.  I will say Cici has gotten back to the fun stuff faster than I have.

On my list of nothing for today.

1. Not watching the Super Bowl, but calling my cousin James to call me when the half time show start.

2. Will do my best to avoid seeing one politician on television. We know how hard that will be.

3. Going through my 6000 emails and deleting emails from both political parties.

4. Ignoring the mess I made on the inside of my Ninja cooking system by using much too much honey, sugar and orange juice trying to cook a ham that was much too large and should have been baked in the oven.

5.Not doing the required work that I need to do on the 4th book of my, Lunchtime Quickies Series.

6.  Not doing ANY work on my novel, God's Analyst

7. Not doing a breakfast smoothie.  I want real food, fattening food that I will be regretting later.

8. Not watching episode eight of Making of a Murder.  I don't need to be more convinced.  I need to be in a better mood to finish it.

9.Not complaining about watching Ant Man  for the second time with Bill and Billy, because Billy didn't see it the first time and Bill sent for it again from Netflix.

10.Not using anything for number ten, but instead reserving it for all the things I will not be doing today.

And on that note, I hope your Sunday is WHATEVER you want it to be.
