Life continue

Okay,  I'm posting before rereading  the last post and pulling it.  Let me just say this:  Life is so much better than it was.  The plumbing is fixed and guess what:  Billy has his job safe for now.  So life is good. I'm even enjoying some success with Lest ye Be Judged.

Have a GRAND weekend everyone.

Things going wrong?

Are you ever supposed to blog when you're having a truly awful day?  How about let's make that a truly awful week.  Personally, I don't think other people want to hear your woes. But considering that I'm the only one who appears to read my blog what does it matter?

Shall I list the things that are going wrong right now today?  Doens't matter I'm going to anyway.  Plumbing  problems and no, it isn't ordinary problems tht a rodding out will fix.  We're talking major and prayers that it isn't aren't helping one little bit.

Then of course the television in the LR is on the fritz.  Okay, maybe I can live without that but it sure the heck is inconvenient.  Now throw in it's time to pay real estate taxes, and I'm not talking a few hundred dollars, let's go into the thousands. And then we have our son who has just learned that his job was bumped when someone else was laid off.

Aren't these enough things that I qualify for a bit of a pity party today.  I'm actually going to post this and see if just the doing of it makes me feel better. When I feel better I'll delete it.

Happy Sunday

Yesterday Lisa G. Riley and I did our annual workshop for Mayor Daley's Bookclub here in Chicago.  It's always a great time to meet old freinds as welas talk to the kids.  Each year we're amazed at how gifted and mature the kids are.

This is especially hard for me, even I think I sound  like an old fuddy duddy.  The kids are reading books with sex and violence and I want them to read about bunny rabbits and fluffy clouds.  Okay, maybe not that but when did all of the kids grown up so quickly.

There is a part of me that realize that they need to learn about the dangers of drugs, unprotected sex, guns and the likes but there still is a part of me that thinks we're chipping away at their carefree childhood, the pure innocence of being a kid.

Believe me I'm aware my wants are a bit backwards in today;s world.  That however doesn't prevent me from wanting it. Oh in case I forget, Lisa and I did enjoy being a of the conference again.
